We Wiped the Smile off Cancer!

Thank you for your support of my “Ride to Conquer Cancer’ this summer.

What a weekend!! It turned out to be the worst storm of the year - if not the decade - with torrential rain and winds gusting up to 115km per hour. Needless to say, we got soaked at the start. Then 10 km in - going downhill at 25kph - I hit a four foot high traffic cone. This sent my bike flying off the road onto a piece of rough ground. I was sure I was going down, but I was thinking, “At least I’ll be in a Canadian hospital!” Surprisingly I stayed upright… and managed to cycle back to the road to the amazement and cheers of the cyclists around me!

Now You Can Have Straight Beautiful Teeth Twice as Fast

When you are going through big life changes, you need to feel confident and secure in how you present yourself. A great smile is one way you can help to break the ice in any new setting, and now you can have that incredible, beautiful smile in just half the time. Dr. Pocock is proud to introduce AcceleDent – a revolutionary new dental technology that can potentially cut orthodontic treatment time by up to 50%.

How Does It Work?

Part of the way that orthodontics works is by changing or remodeling the bones surrounding your teeth. AcceleDent accelerates this process by using tiny vibrations, or micropulses to gently accelerate the movement of your teeth. It’s clinically proven to move teeth 50% faster than braces alone.

What do a Blue Turtle and a Pink Peacock Have in Common?

As many of you remember, last year, Smiles by Pocock held a drive to collect books for the Blue Turtle Elementary School in Calcutta. Clients, kids and friends of Smilesbypocock all brought their used books to our orthodontic office. Dr. Pocock and his Smilesbypocock staff collected fantasy books, novels, geographic books, storybooks and so much more. It was an impressive sight. In total, 3,000 books were collected. Now: how to get so many books to India?

Edgemont Moving and Storage to the Rescue

Can you imagine how many boxes it takes to pack 3,000 books? Let’s just say the answer is a lot! But, Edgemont Moving and Storage supplied all the boxes, packed up all the books and moved them out to be shipped across the ocean to India. It was a huge job, but they did it all at no cost to our office. It was an act of love. And boy was it appreciated!

We Rolled Out the Red Carpet and Rolled Out the Fun at our First Patient Appreciation Movie Event!

It was bright and early Saturday morning March 7th and the Smilesbypocock staff were hard at work decorating the Esplanade Theatre with bright purple and yellow balloons as Smilesbypocock’s patients were already lining up for an exciting morning! It was a sold out event and the first-ever of its kind!

It all began with a walk down the red carpet on the arm of the dapper Dr. Pocock in his white tuxedo. Cameras were rolling, and the video footage showed, everyone was jazzed to attend this free movie event.
