Thank you for your support of my “Ride to Conquer Cancer’ this summer.
What a weekend!! It turned out to be the worst storm of the year - if not the decade - with torrential rain and winds gusting up to 115km per hour. Needless to say, we got soaked at the start. Then 10 km in - going downhill at 25kph - I hit a four foot high traffic cone. This sent my bike flying off the road onto a piece of rough ground. I was sure I was going down, but I was thinking, “At least I’ll be in a Canadian hospital!” Surprisingly I stayed upright… and managed to cycle back to the road to the amazement and cheers of the cyclists around me!
